PAC (Polyanionic Cellulose) is a kind of nonionic cellulose ether with the properties of high purity, high DS, particularly high viscosity or low viscosity. These products are semi-natural polymer additive, thickening agent, filtrate reducer.

PAC is an indispensable product for drilling mud making. PAC is high purity product, the water solution of this powder is transparent and viscid. As water-soluble polymer, it dissolves immediately in cold/hot water and can be used as a thickening agent, rheology controller, bond, stabilizer, colloid protector, suspending agent, and filtrate reducer.

PAC is a good drilling mud additive and also an important material for confecting well liquid, a high mud volume product that featured high acid-resistance and salt-resistance ability. It is a good filtrate reducer with the capacity of increasing viscosity and anti-high temperature (150°C) in the freshwater, seawater, or even saturated brine well-completion liquid. It is suitable for confecting the completion fluid with these three kinds of water above.

PAC-HV is a cellulose derivative product, white to creamish coloured free flowing fine powder. It is used for water-based drilling fluids, which can effectively reduce the filtration rate of many water-based oil and gas drilling fluids and may also be used to increase and stabilize viscosity to improve hole cleaning and suspension properties in a wide variety of fluid environment.

PAC-LV is a short chain polymer and is used as a filtration control agent in solids-laden, water-based drilling fluids, which can effectively reduce the filtration rate of many water-based drilling fluids, without causing significant increases in viscosity or gel strength.

PAC-R is a long chain polymer of high molecular weight cost-effective water based additive to reduce API filtration rate of many water based drilling fluids including freshwater, seawater, saturated saltwater and solids-free brines, native mud, flocculated mud, inhibited mud and contaminated systems. PAC R increases and stabilizes viscosity to improve rheology, well hole cleaning and suspension property by coating and encapsulating cuttings and solids of drilling fluids. PAC-R is effective over a wide range of pH environments. It lubricates solids in the system, improves wall cake characteristics and reduces the potential for stuck pipe.


Packing is done in poly laminated 25 Kg HDPE bags with 2 (Two) Liners inside. Any modifications in packing can be made as per the customer’s requirement. Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) is non – hygroscopic and considered to be stable product and is packaged in a sealed manner. The product has no specific requirement for storage, and there is no expiration date. However, it may absorb moisture if exposed to the atmosphere with a relative humidity higher than 65%.
