SODIUM CARBOXY METHYL CELLULOSE (SCMC)

cellulose-powder1Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCNMC) is an anionic water soluble polymer derived from cellulose and is also known as Sodium Cellulose Glycolate, Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) and Cellulose Gum etc. The chemical name of SCMC is Sodium Salt of Methyl Ether of Cellulose.

SCMC is a white to creamish coloured powder consisting of fine powder / fine granules. It is odorless and tasteless. It is a hygroscopic powder readily dissolves in water to form colloidal solution. It is insoluble in most of the solvents including ethanol and ether. It has become fairly well established trade practice to call the commercial product as Carboy Methyl Cellulose or CMC.

POLY ANIONIC CELLULOSE (PAC)

cellulose-powder1PAC (Polyanionic Cellulose) is a kind of nonionic cellulose ether with the properties of high purity, high DS, particularly high viscosity or low viscosity. These products are semi-natural polymer additive, thickening agent, filtrate reducer.

PAC is an indispensable product for drilling mud making. PAC is high purity product, the water solution of this powder is transparent and viscid. As water-soluble polymer, it dissolves immediately in cold/hot water and can be used as a thickening agent, rheology controller, bond, stabilizer, colloid protector, suspending agent, and filtrate reducer.

PAC is a good drilling mud additive and also an important material for confecting well liquid.

CELLULOSE POWDER

cellulose-powder1Cellulose is an organic compound with the formula (C6H10O5)n, a polysaccharide consisting of a linear chain of several hundred to many thousands of β(1→4) linked D-glucose units. Cellulose is an important structural component of the primary cell wall of green plants, many forms of algae and the oomycetes. Some species of bacteria secrete it to form biofilms. Cellulose is the most abundant organic polymer on Earth. The cellulose content of cotton fiber is 90 – 95% and that of wood is 40 – 50%.

Cellulose is mainly used to produce paperboard and paper. Smaller quantities are converted into a wide variety of derivative products such as cellophane and rayon.

MICRO CRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE POWDER

Micro Crystalline Cellulose PowderMicro Crystalline Cellulose is a mechanically disintegrated level of Alpha Cellulose. It comprises purified, de-polymerized, Micro Crystalline sub-micron size colloidal particles. It is produced by treating Alfa Cellulose obtained as a pulp from fibrous plants with minerals acid. As the name implies, Micro Crystalline Cellulose is basically Cellulose and is derived from high quality wood pulp and Cotton Linters. While cellulose is the most abundant organic material, Micro Crystalline Cellulose can only be derived by Hydrolysis from a special grade of Alpha Cellulose.
It is a white to off-white, odorless, tasteless, extra freeflowing powder which is relatively free from organic and non-organic contaminants. It is metabolically inert, stable, and safe and has excellent water absorptive, swelling & dispersion properties, is insoluble in water, dilute acid, in almost all common organic solvents and oils. It is partially soluble in dilute alkali.

ALPHA CELLULOSE POWDER

Alpha Cellulose PowderOne of three classes of cellulose, Alpha Cellulose has the highest degree of polymerization and is the most stable. The other two classes, known ashemicelluloses, are beta cellulose and gamma cellulose. Alpha cellulose is the major component of wood and paper pulp. It may be separated from the other components by soaking the pulp in a solution of sodium hydroxide. The pure white, alpha cellulose is insoluble and can be filtered from the solution and washed prior to use in the production of paper or cellulosic polymers. A high percent of alpha cellulose in paper provides a stable, permanent material. Linen and cotton contain high proportions of Alpha Cellulose.Alpha cellulose pulps can be created from wood pulps and Cotton Linters using extended sulfite.
